Our Academic Origin
One of the prime movers behind WACRA EUROPE e.V. is Dr. Elmar A. Stuhler. Throughout the thirty years since his first exposure to the case method at the Harvard Business School, he has promoted case method research and case method application in Europe and Asia. Following the publications in 1975 of a pioneering study, co-authored with his Harvard mentor, Professor Henry Arthur, Stuhler, together with an eminent pedagogic psychologist, Professor Rainer Fuchs, undertook research into the substitution of the case method in place of conventional university lecturing methods. The research embraced three German universities as well as a Philippine university. During the 1980s the research network was extended to embrace academics from a range of disciplines in other European countries.
